HP LASER PRINTERS 1200, 2200,
3100 FAX, 3200 FAX, 4100
1. This is a communication error code with the application that is being used.
2. Go back to a different
software program and see if a job will print.
3. If message persists turn
printer off then on.
4. Disconnect the network
cable and then turn printer off then on.
5. If message still there when
the network cable is disconnected. Up grade firmware in jetdirect card and
the formatter board.
6. Bad network cable.
7. Bad jetdirect card.
8. Replace the firmware dimm.
9. Replace the formatter
board.
HP LASER PRINTER 2300,
2410, 2420, 2430 ERROR 49.XX 1.
A critical firmware error has occurred on the printer. 2.
Turn printer off then on. 3.
Disconnect the parallel cable or the network cable 4.
If message still there when the network cable is disconnected. Up
grade firmware in jetdirect card and the formatter board. 5. Bad network cable. 6.
Replace firmware dimm 7.
Replace the jetdirect card. 8.
Replace formatter board. 9.
Replace engine board. HP
LASER PRINTER P3005 1.
A critical firmware error has occurred on the printer. 2.
Turn the device off and then on. 3.
Try to determine whether the error occurs intermittently, while
printing, or when turning on the device. 4.
If the error appears while printing, determine whether it occurs when
printing from a specific computer, a specific application, or a
specific file. If all other computers, applications, or files can
print without the error, then the problem may be only within one print
job or computer. Make sure the computer has the most current printer
drivers or use a generic printer driver. 5.
Go to www.hp.com/support/LJP3005
click Download Driver and software. Check for the latest
firmware image version at the bottom of the page. If this firmware
image is newer than the one installed on the device and the device can
receive a firmware update, download the newer firmware upgrade. 6.
Try printing a job from a different software program. If the job
prints, go back to the first program and try printing a different
file. If the message appears only with a certain software program or
print job, contact the software vendor for assistance. 7.
If the message persists, contact HP Support.
HP
LASER PRINTER 3027M/3035
1.
A critical firmware error has occurred.
2.
Turn the device off and then turn the device on.
3.
Check to see if there is a newer firmware and upgrade the device.
4.
Try printing a job from a different software program.
5.
Turn the device off and remove any DIMMs and EIO cards, and then turn
the device on.
6.
Check to see if the DIMMs or EIO is bad.
7.
Replace the formatter.
HP LASER PRINTER 3050, 3052, 3055, 3390, 3392
1. The all-in-one has experienced an internal embedded software
error.
2. Turn off the power by using the power
switch, wait at least 30 seconds, and then turn on the power and
wait for the printer to initialize.
HP LASER PRINTER 4100, 4100MFP
1. A firmware error has occurred.
2. Press CANCEL JOB to clear the print
job from the printer memory.
3. Try printing a job from a different
software application.
4. If the error message persists with a
different software application and print jobs, disconnect all cables
to the printer that connect it to the network or printer.
5. Remove all memory DIMMs or third
party DIMMs from the printer.
6. Remove all EIO device from the
printer.
7. If the error no longer exists,
install each DIMM and EIO device one at a time.
8. Replace the firmware DIMM.
9. Replace the formatter. HP LASER PRINTER 4200, 4300,
4250, 4350 1.
A critical firmware error has occurred on the printer. 2.
Turn printer off then on. 3.
Disconnect the parallel cable or the network cable 4.
If message still there when the network cable is disconnected. Up
grade firmware in jetdirect card and the formatter board. 5.
Replace firmware dimm 6.
Replace the jetdirect card. 7.
Replace formatter board. 8.
Replace engine board.
HP LASER PRINTER
4345MFP, 5025MFP, 5035MFP
1. A critical firmware
error has occurred.
2. Turn the MFP off, and
then turn the MFP on.
3. Upgrade the firmware.
4. Try printing a job from
a different software program. if the job prints, go back to the first
program and try printing a different file. If the message appears only
with a certain software program or print job, contact the software
vendor for assistance.
5. if the message persists
when using different software programs an attempting specific print
jobs, disconnect all the cables that connect the MFP to the network or
a computer.
6. Turn the MFP off.
7 Remove all DIMMs and
flash memory cards, Do not remove the firmware memory card that is in
slot
8. Remove all of the EIO
devices.
0. Turn the MFP on.
10. If the error message
disappears, reinstall each DIMM, flash memory card, and EIO device
individually, make sure to turn the MFP power off and then on again as
you install each device.
11. Replace the component
that caused the error message.
12. if the error persists,
replace the formatter.
HP
LASER PRINTER ERROR CODE 49.24.02 FOR THE PRINTERS 4200, 4300 ONLY 1.
The printer has experienced a critical error. 2.
Verify that the ribbon cables are fully seated in the connectors on
the D.C. controller. 3.
Replace the power supply. 4.
Replace D.C. controller. 5.
Replace the formatter board.
HP COLOR LASER PRINTER 4500
1. Indicates that a critical firmware error has
occurred. An invalid command or data was sent to the formatter causing
the processor to stop.
2. A poor-quality parallel
cable or network cable. 3.
Turn printer off then on. 4.
Disconnect the parallel cable and the network cable
5. If
message still there when the network cable is disconnected. Up grade
firmware in jetdirect card and the formatter board.
6. Replace firmware dimm
7. Replace jetdirect card.
8. Replace formatter board.
HP COLOR LASER PRINTER
4600, 5500
1. A
critical firmware error has occurred on the formatter.
2. Try a different software
application and see if the job prints. If the job prints the application
that you were using has a bad communications to the printer
3. Disconnect the parallel
cable or the network cable.
4. Turn printer off and remove
all dimms and EIO devices from the printer. Turn printer on and if the
error no longer exists, make sure the printer is off and back on as you
install each dimm and EIO device.
5. Download the up to date
firmware for the EIO / Network card and the formatter board. 6.
Replace the EIO / Network card.
7. Replace firmware dimm
8. Replace formatter board.
HP
LASER PRINTER 5200
1.
A critical firmware error has occurred that caused the processor on
the formatter to abort operation. This type of error can be caused by
invalid print commands, corrupt data, or invalid operations. In some
cases, electrical noise in the cable can corrupt data during
transmission to the printer.
2. Turn the printer off and
then on.
3. Press STOP to clear all
print jobs from the printer memory.
4. Turn the printer off and
then on.
5. Try printing a job using
a different software program. If the job prints, try using the
original software program to print a different job.
6. If the message persists
with different software programs and print jobs, disconnect all of the
cables and turn the printer off.
7. If the error persists,
perform a firmware upgrade.
8. Remove all DIMMs, EIO
devices, and CompactFlash solutions.
9. Remove all EIO devices.
10. Turn the printer on.
11. If the error does not
persist, reinstall the DIMMs, EIO devices, and CompactFlash one at a
time.
12. Replace the DIMM, EIO
device or CompactFlash if necessary.
13. Reconnect all of the
cables.
HP COLOR LASER PRINTER 8500
1.Indicates that a software or data communications error has occurred, or
corrupt data was sent to the printer. This can be caused during times of
high network traffic or incomplete or out-of-bounds print data. This error
can also occur because of defective EIO devices.
2. Communication error code. Turn printer off the back on.
3. Remove all EIO cards and
reinstall them to ensure they are seated correctly.
4. If using a parallel
connection, verify that the cable is IEEE-1284 compliant.
5. Replace the EIO/Network
card.
6. Replace the formatter
board.
HP LASER PRINTER 9000, 9040,
9050MFP
1. Communication or critical firmware error occurred. Turn printer off the back on.
2. Up grade the firmware to
the latest version in the Jetdirect card and the formatter board.
3. Replace firmware DIMM
4. Replace Jetdirect card and
formatter board.
